AirDrop for Windows & Android — Right in Your Browser

AirDrop only works between Apple devices. ShareByWiFi does the same job for any device with a browser — iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux. No app, no account.

How it works

The other side doesn't need to be online at the same time. Files and text stay in the room for 24 hours after it was last opened, so you can send now and pick it up later.

Popular ways to use it

iPhone to Windows PC

Open sharebywifi.com in Safari on your iPhone and in any browser on your PC. Pick photos or files on the iPhone and download them on the PC — no cable and no emailing yourself.

Android to Mac

Open the site in Chrome on your Android phone and in Safari or Chrome on your Mac. Upload from the phone, and the files are ready to download on the Mac.

Android to Windows

Open sharebywifi.com on both, then drag files from your PC onto the page or pick them on your phone. They show up on the other device straight away.

A link or text from phone to laptop

Paste a link, an address or a note on your phone and copy it on your laptop a second later. Text sharing is our most-used feature.

Not on the same network?

Create a Private Room. It gives you a link and a QR code; open either on the other device and you're in the same room, whatever network each device is on — mobile data, another WiFi, or another country.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an AirDrop for Windows?
Apple doesn't make AirDrop for Windows. ShareByWiFi does the same job in the browser: open sharebywifi.com on your Windows PC and on your other device, then drop a file or paste text on one to get it on the other. There's nothing to install.

Can I AirDrop from iPhone to Android?
AirDrop is built for Apple devices, though a few newer Android phones can now exchange files with AirDrop via Quick Share. For any other Android phone, open sharebywifi.com on both the iPhone and the Android phone and share through the browser instead.

Do I need to install an app?
No. ShareByWiFi runs in the browser on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux — just open sharebywifi.com on each device. You don't need an account either.

Does it work without internet?
No. Both devices need an internet connection, because files and text go through our server.

Is it private?
A Network session is visible to anyone on the same WiFi, including people who join later. Use a Private Room for anything personal: only people with its link or QR code can see what's shared there.
